EQ2 Macro Guide

Creating an Everquest II Macro:

  • Press “o” (default) to open the “Socials” window
  • Click on the “Macros” tab. You can store up to 50 macros here.
  • You can drag them onto your hotbar to use them.
  • Click on the "Click to Edit" and let's get started. Each command must be on its own line. You used to could string several commands on each line by seperating them with a semi-colon but I think that was nerfed somewhere. Now one command per line, 3 total.
  • If you are 2 boxing you probably want to turn spell queuing off as it will continue to try and cast when you do not want it to  ;)

Simple Example:

/say Hi!

Will make your character wave, and say "Hi!”.

Macros are executed all at once. There is no pause and all commands are sent to the game. It works on a "first available thing gets done" basis. If they are all instant you may get 2 off. If you have a macro like this:
/useability action1
/useability action2
/gsay Blasting %T!

You begin casting action1, queue action2, and announce “Blasting <your target>” to your group.

Some favorites we use when 2 boxing:

Auto Follow:

/target <name>

target_group_member #  Or /target <name>
/useability <dot>

Nuking: This will cast the first available DD so you can just twist it over and over.

/useability <dd1>
/useability <dd2>
/useability <dd3>

Fun things you can do to spice them up:

Add the gender, race or class to macro:

%M – Returns the character’s pet's name (when they have a pet)
%T - Returns the current target.
%S - Returns the subjective gender-specific pronoun for the target (He, She, It).
%O - Returns the objective gender-specific pronoun for the target (Him, Her, It).
%P - Returns the possessive gender-specific pronoun for the target (His, Her, Its).
%R - Returns the race of the target (only works on Player characters - Sorry.
%G - Returns the gender of the target
